Warrant Issued for Coweta County Teacher After Indecent Exposure Allegation

Sharpsburg, Georgia – An arrest warrant has been issued for a staff member at East Coweta County High School following allegations that he exposed himself to students in a classroom earlier this week.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday. The school district immediately placed the staff member on leave. A letter sent by the high school principal to parents on Thursday stated that a health and physical education teacher was put on leave after students reported indecent exposure in the classroom.

According to the principal’s letter, law enforcement charged the teacher on Wednesday night. However, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident but noted that no arrest had been made at the time of their statement.

The sheriff’s office released a statement reading in part: “We can only provide that the teacher’s genitalia was exposed to students. The teacher has a warrant for public indecency and has not been arrested at this time.”

The sheriff’s office added that the investigation remains active, though no further details were provided regarding how or why the incident occurred.
