ATLANTA, Georgia — A 33-year-old man died Saturday following a shooting in the Monroe Heights neighborhood of northwest Atlanta, law enforcement officials confirmed.
According to police spokespersons, officers responded to the 2800 block of Mangel Circle Northwest at approximately 1:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, emergency personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police spokespersons stated that investigators have not yet released the victim’s identity, nor have they identified any suspects. The motive behind the shooting and the circumstances that led to the incident remain under active investigation.
“We’re still working to find out what led up to the shooting,” a police spokesperson said during a brief update on the ongoing inquiry.
Authorities have not disclosed whether surveillance footage or witness statements have been collected, but spokespersons emphasized that the investigation is progressing and urged anyone with information to contact local law enforcement.
