ATLANTA, Georgia — A 32-year-old man accused of shooting and injuring a passenger aboard a MARTA train at Midtown Station on Friday night has been taken into custody following a multi-agency search.
MARTA police confirmed that Anthony Gresham was apprehended Friday morning on Lee Road in Douglas County. According to investigators, Gresham attempted to flee when officers approached, running into a nearby wooded area. Law enforcement personnel from several agencies coordinated efforts to locate and detain the suspect, who was subsequently placed in handcuffs without further incident.
A MARTA spokesperson stated that Gresham is currently being held at the Douglas County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, in connection with the Friday night shooting aboard the train at the Midtown Station.
The arrest concludes a days-long manhunt that began after the initial incident. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the condition of the victim or the specific circumstances that led to the shooting, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
