Second Teen Believed Targeted in Atlanta’s Sylvan Hills Shooting

ATLANTA, Georgia – A deadly shooting investigation is underway in Atlanta’s Sylvan Hills neighborhood, marking the second fatal gunfire incident within minutes and approximately five miles of another shooting in the Oakland City area.

Police responded to reports of gunfire on Lisbon Drive, where officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

While authorities have not yet released any details regarding the victim’s identity, a man who spoke with investigators at the scene told officials he believes the person killed was his nephew. The grieving family member described the victim as being in his late teens.

According to police, preliminary evidence suggests the shooting was targeted. No arrests have been announced at this time.

This incident follows a separate deadly shooting investigation occurring just minutes earlier in Atlanta’s Oakland City neighborhood. Authorities have not indicated any connection between the two events.
