Man Critical After Robbery and Shooting at Northeast Side Motel; Gunman at Large

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Authorities are searching for a suspect after a man was shot in the chest during a robbery at a motel on the city’s northeast side.

Police say the incident occurred around 11 p.m. at the Hallmark Inn and Suites along I-35. Officers responded to the scene to find a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

According to witnesses on scene, the shooter fled in a dark-colored SUV. Beyond that description, San Antonio police have limited information on the suspect at this time.

Investigators report that the gunman entered the victim’s motel room, robbed him, and then shot him. Despite his critical injuries, the victim was able to tell police what happened. After being shot, the man ran from the back parking lot to the front of the hotel to seek help.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
