Iran Sends Revised Proposal to US Amid Tightening Deadline for Middle East Deal

Iran has submitted a revised proposal to the United States aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, according to a Pakistani source who spoke to Reuters. The source warned that both sides “don’t have much time” to bridge their differences.

The development comes as fears grow that fighting could resume at any moment, with negotiators reporting that both parties continue to shift their positions on key issues. President Donald Trump has emphasized the urgency, stating that “the clock is ticking” and warning Tehran that it must move faster or risk severe consequences. In a public message, Trump said Iran “better get moving faster. There won’t be anything left of them. Time is of the essence.”

Trump is expected to meet with his national security team tomorrow to decide the next course of action. While he has left open the possibility of resuming military operations, the president continues to express preference for reaching a deal with Iran.

In a related diplomatic move, Trump spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The discussion covered Netanyahu’s recent visit to China and the path forward on regional issues.

Tensions in the region escalated further after the United Arab Emirates reported that three drones entered its airspace from the west. Two of the drones were intercepted, while the third struck near a nuclear facility. The UN’s nuclear watchdog confirmed there were no injuries and no changes in nuclear radiation levels. The UAE has not directly blamed Iran but has hinted at possible Iranian involvement or that of its proxies.

The United States is maintaining pressure on Iran through a naval blockade that has so far turned away 81 ships, in an effort to bring Tehran back to the negotiating table in earnest. Both Washington and Tehran have stated they fundamentally do not trust one another and remain apart on core issues.
