13-Year-Old on Electric Scooter Killed in Crash with Pickup Truck in Orlando

 A 13-year-old boy died Sunday after the electric scooter he was riding was struck by a pickup truck in Orlando’s Lake Nona area, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

FHP stated the crash occurred on Moss Park Road near Savannah Pines Drive. A photograph of the damaged scooter released after the incident shows the vehicle was split in two as a result of the collision.

Family and friends of the teenager said he was on his way to buy flowers at the time of the crash.

No further details about the pickup truck driver or potential charges have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
