MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Law enforcement officials are investigating three separate shootings that occurred within a three-hour window overnight, one of which proved fatal.
According to Milwaukee Police spokespersons, the first incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 24th and Lapham streets on the city’s Southwest Side. A 33-year-old individual was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators placed evidence markers in the street and in the grass at nearby Rescue Park, while officers canvassed the area with K-9 units and flashlights. Police spokespersons stated that it remains unclear what led to the gunfire or who is responsible.
In a separate development, Milwaukee Police spokespersons confirmed two additional non-fatal shootings on the city’s North Side. The first of these occurred just before midnight near 49th and Hopkins Street, where a 39-year-old was shot and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A third incident followed around 1:15 a.m. near 40th and Center streets. Police spokespersons reported that a 33-year-old was shot and also taken to a hospital. The condition of both non-fatal victims has not been disclosed.
Milwaukee Police spokespersons emphasized that all three incidents remain under active investigation. Authorities have not yet made any arrests and have not indicated whether the shootings are connected. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to each incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Police spokespersons advised residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. Updates on the investigations will be provided as more information becomes available.
