Two Injured in Loop Stabbing Following Alleged Assault

CHICAGO, Illinois — Two people were injured in a stabbing incident Friday afternoon in the Loop following an alleged sexual assault outside the Wit Hotel near State and Lake streets, according to Chicago police spokespersons.

Police spokespersons said a man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on the sidewalk before a different woman at the scene intervened and stabbed the suspect in the eye. During the ensuing scuffle, another man was stabbed in the wrist.

All injuries were described as minor. The woman who stabbed the alleged attacker has been taken to a hospital and remains under observation, spokespersons added.

Chicago police spokespersons confirmed the incident is under active investigation. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and no charges have been announced at this time.

The incident occurred in a heavily trafficked area of downtown Chicago during afternoon hours. Police spokespersons urged anyone with information or video footage from the scene to contact investigators.
