ATLANTA — New details have emerged regarding a stabbing incident at the Georgia State MARTA station over the weekend that left one person injured, according to an incident report released by authorities.
MARTA police officers responded to the station after receiving reports of an individual who had been stabbed multiple times. A review of surveillance footage by investigators revealed that the altercation began when the victim punched the suspect in the face twice, escalating into a mutual physical confrontation, MARTA police spokespersons stated.
During the struggle, the suspect produced a knife, pursued the victim onto the station concourse, and stabbed him, spokespersons said. The suspect then fled the scene. No arrests have been made as the investigation remains active.
Authorities continue to seek information from the public to assist in identifying and locating the suspect. The condition of the injured person has not been disclosed.
