Police Pursuit Ends in Dramatic Multi-Vehicle Crash on Milwaukee’s Northwest Side

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — A police chase early Monday morning culminated in a striking multi-vehicle collision on the city’s northwest side, leaving a black SUV perched precariously atop two parked cars and sending at least four people to the hospital.

The incident occurred near 117 Fond du Lac Avenue, where witnesses reported seeing a driver speeding while fleeing law enforcement. According to neighbors, the vehicle attempted to take an exit, rolled multiple times through a grassy area, vaulted over a fence and shed, and ultimately came to rest on two parked vehicles in an apartment complex parking lot.

Two occupants of a white SUV parked at the scene narrowly escaped serious harm. Photos provided by the pair show the roof of their vehicle crushed from the impact. Both were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries—described as bumps and bruises—and have since been released and are recovering at home.

A second white SUV, owned by a resident who declined to appear on camera, sustained damage but remained operational. “I never in my life seen the car topple over or be upside down on top of two vehicles before,” she said.

Another witness described the scene vividly: “I come outside and that’s when I see this car clearly. Did an Olympic jump over the fence and it was on top of my vehicle.”

Family members of those inside the fleeing black SUV confirmed that at least two individuals were hospitalized, one with serious injuries. Authorities have not released further details about their conditions.

When contacted for comment, a spokesperson for the Wisconsin State Patrol declined to answer questions regarding the identity of the pursued driver, the reason for the chase, or whether any arrests were made.

Residents expressed relief that the incident did not result in fatalities. “That could have killed somebody, that could have killed themselves,” one neighbor said. “You know, thank God it didn’t end up worse.”

The crash remains under investigation.
