MIAMI, Florida — A new wave of Miami corporate moves is on the horizon, according to Mast Capital CEO and founder Camilo Miguel Jr., who revealed that multiple unannounced financial institutions are currently in the process of relocating to South Florida. This corporate migration coincides with robust demand for the city’s tallest residential offering, Cipriani Residences in Brickell, which is already 80 percent sold to a diverse, international buyer pool.
Founded in 2006, Mast Capital has developed numerous projects across Florida, but the Cipriani Residences represents a major milestone for the firm. Miguel expressed humility and pride in the project’s unprecedented scale, noting that the development was intentionally designed with a globally resonant brand. This strategy has proven highly effective in a post-pandemic landscape where Miami has thoroughly reinvented itself as a global hub.
The residential tower has successfully attracted buyers from more than 30 different countries, including Europeans, South Americans, Central Americans, Mexicans, and Canadians. Miguel pointed out that many of these international buyers are seeking stability while fleeing economic and political headwinds in their home nations. Crucially, these purchases are not merely speculative investments or secondary vacation homes. Many buyers are relocating their entire families to Miami permanently, viewing the city as their primary home. Despite this heavy international reliance, Miguel emphasized that domestic buyers remain a vital and continuously growing segment of the market.
A primary catalyst for this demographic and economic shift is Miami’s pro-business mentality. Miguel highlighted that hedge funds and financial institutions are increasingly recognizing they no longer need to be anchored in New York City to remain relevant and successful. The combination of a business-friendly city and state environment is actively drawing these enterprises to open new offices in South Florida.
While several high-profile corporate relocations to Miami have already been made public, Miguel confirmed that many other corporate moves are currently in the works and will be announced in the near future. He anticipates that Cipriani Residences will play an active role in housing this influx of corporate talent and leadership, further cementing the building’s importance to the skyline and urban core of Miami.
Having grown up in Miami, Miguel reflected on the city’s dramatic evolution, stating that he never dreamed the city would reach its current global status when he first started his business. With the skyline continuing to transform and international interest showing no signs of slowing, Mast Capital’s leadership believes the potential for South Florida’s growth remains limitless.
