Man Fatally Stabbed Near Times Square as Three Suspects Remain at Large

A 39-year-old man from Massachusetts was fatally stabbed near Times Square on Monday night in an attack captured on surveillance video, police said. Three suspects are on the run.

The violence unfolded around 11:30 p.m. in an alley adjacent to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on West 43rd Street, just steps from the bustling Crossroads of the World. According to police, an argument between the victim and the three men appears to have escalated into the stabbing.

The victim, whose name has not been released, suffered several stab wounds to his face and body. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he died.

“It really makes you wonder how safe you are,” one local resident said.

The deadly incident, which occurred amid the nonstop energy of Times Square, has left people who live and work in the area unsettled. On Tuesday afternoon, the neighborhood was moving as usual, with crowds of tourists taking in the sights, but beneath the surface, there is growing concern.

“It’s terrible,” said one visitor. “I mean, there’s a lot of security in the area.”

Another added: “More police presence is always a good thing. I think we need a culture change because people are just so angry and it’s coming to the surface.”

Police sources say investigators have obtained clear images of the three men believed to be responsible. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects.
