Google has reached a settlement in a racial discrimination lawsuit filed in 2022, resolving claims from former Black employees who alleged the company steered them into lower‑paid roles and tolerated a hostile work environment.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump confirmed that the settlement responds to the lawsuit, which involved several former Google employees. According to the Associated Press, the complaint accused the tech giant of directing Black workers into less lucrative job tracks while subjecting them to workplace hostility.

Under the terms of the agreement, Google will pay $50 million and implement pay‑transparency measures. However, the company has stated that the settlement does not constitute an admission of wrongdoing.
