MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s north side that authorities say originated from a physical altercation between two men.
The incident occurred near the intersection of 40th and Burleigh streets, where detectives responded to the scene. A 59-year-old man was pronounced dead as a result of the shooting.
According to Milwaukee police spokespersons, the fatal shooting stemmed from a fight between two individuals. Officers arrested a 49-year-old suspect at the scene in connection with the incident.
Police spokespersons confirmed that the identity of the arrested individual has not been released pending further investigation. All charges in the case have been referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for review and potential filing.
