A man is dead following a multi-vehicle collision involving a Prince George’s County school bus on Route 210 early Friday morning. Officials confirmed that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
The school bus was found on its side at the scene, with its front window busted out. Two other vehicles—an SUV and a car—were also involved. The car sustained what authorities described as “unrecognizable damage.” Police said the driver of that car was the person who died.
The driver of the school bus was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV was treated for injuries at the scene.
Prince George’s County police are still investigating what caused the crash. A spokesperson for the department said it is not yet known whether speed or other factors played a role.
The spokesperson also issued a message for drivers: “Again, we just want to reiterate, just take your time when driving. We know traffic, early morning commute. Everyone’s heading to work, everyone’s heading to school. But we just encourage everyone to just take a little extra time.”
