GREENVILLE COUNTY — Dash cam footage released this week captures the critical moments when two Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies rescued and revived a toddler who fell into a swimming pool and stopped breathing.
The incident occurred on May 31 in Upstate South Carolina. Video shows the deputies arriving on scene and immediately running toward a woman who was carrying the unresponsive child in her arms. Without hesitation, both deputies began administering CPR.
“Right ready? Everyone doing CPR. Go ahead,” can be heard in the footage as the responders work to revive the young girl.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies’ swift actions were instrumental in saving the child’s life. In a statement, the Sheriff’s Office said, “Their quick thinking made all the difference when seconds mattered most.”
The toddler was successfully revived following the on-scene resuscitation efforts. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the child’s condition or the circumstances leading to the fall, citing the ongoing nature of the incident and privacy considerations.
The release of the dash cam video highlights the critical role of rapid emergency response in life-threatening situations involving young children. Safety advocates continue to remind caregivers that constant supervision and barriers around residential pools are essential precautions to prevent accidental drownings.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has not indicated whether additional follow-up statements will be provided.
