China Welcomes Trump Visit Ahead of Xi Summit Talks

China has welcomed the upcoming state visit by U.S. President Donald Trump, with Beijing signaling cautious optimism ahead of expected high-level talks between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping aimed at easing tensions between the world’s two largest economies.

Speaking during a regular press briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said both countries should work to “manage differences” while expanding areas of cooperation and addressing shared global challenges.

The anticipated summit is expected to focus heavily on trade disputes, geopolitical tensions, and broader concerns surrounding global stability as strategic competition between Washington and Beijing continues to intensify.
