APD: Wallet Snatch Near Greyhound Station Leads to Shooting, Three Charged

ATLANTA, Georgia — Atlanta police have detailed the chain of events that led to a shooting Tuesday morning near a Greyhound bus station, leaving one bystander injured and three men facing criminal charges.

The incident unfolded on Forsyth Street around 6:30 a.m. According to police, a man was waiting for the bus when another individual snatched his wallet. The victim then chased after the suspect.

During the pursuit, the victim shot at the suspect, but the gunfire grazed another person in the process. Police said that a witness then became involved, opening fire on the group out of fear for his safety.

The bystander who was grazed by a bullet near his head was treated at a hospital and later released.

All three men — the initial victim, the suspected thief, and the witness — are now facing charges, authorities confirmed.
