U.S. Miner Ramps Up Antimony Production to Cut Reliance on Adversaries

In a recent television interview, Paul Andre Huet, Chairman of America’s Gold and Silver, outlined an aggressive strategy to expand domestic antimony production, citing urgent needs for U.S. defense systems and a mandate to reduce reliance on foreign adversaries.

In an interview Huet detailed how the company is scaling operations at the Galena Complex to secure a supply chain currently vulnerable to foreign control. Antimony, a critical mineral used in ammunition, night vision goggles, and other defense applications, is predominantly sourced from nations viewed as strategic competitors.

Huet emphasized that the expansion is not merely a commercial decision but a national security priority. He noted that current U.S. dependency on overseas suppliers poses a direct risk to military readiness. By increasing output from the Galena Complex, America’s Gold and Silver aims to provide a reliable, domestically controlled alternative for defense contractors and the U.S. government.

The Chairman also discussed the logistical and operational steps being taken to scale production efficiently, ensuring that the metal meets military-grade specifications. He stressed that reducing lead times and securing the supply chain are essential to insulating American defense systems from geopolitical disruptions.

The company’s push aligns with broader legislative and executive efforts to reshore critical mineral production, with Huet affirming that the Galena Complex is positioned to become a cornerstone of U.S. antimony self-sufficiency.
