Carrollton, Texas – A shooting at a shopping center off Highway 121 has left two people dead and three others injured, according to Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo.
Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of State Highway 121 at approximately 9:57 a.m. following reports of a shooting with possible victims. Upon arrival, officers located multiple victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Chief Arredondo confirmed that two individuals are deceased and three others are in stable condition.
The suspect has been identified as Seung Han Ho, a 69-year-old Asian male. Arredondo stated that officers successfully took Ho into custody after a short foot chase at a secondary location in Carrollton.
Authorities are working multiple scenes across the K-Town Plaza, located at State Highway 121 and Hebron Parkway, as well as a nearby shopping center known locally as Korea Town near the George Bush Turnpike.
According to Chief Arredondo, the victims were meeting with the suspect for a business purpose. He emphasized that this was not a random act of gunfire and confirmed that the incident is not being investigated as a hate crime.
“There is no immediate threat to the public,” Arredondo said.
The Carrollton Police Department is receiving assistance from multiple agencies, including the Louisville Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Denton County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and ATF.
Arredondo extended condolences on behalf of the city of Carrollton and its partner agencies to the families of the victims. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with authorities continuing to work to determine what motivated the suspect’s actions.
