US Strike on Suspected Drug Vessel Kills Three as Iran Tensions Simmer

In a recent operation in the Eastern Pacific, the US military conducted a strike on a vessel suspected of involvement in drug trafficking, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. US Southern Command released footage of the operation, confirming the action against the alleged narcotics network.

US War Secretary Pete Hegseth addressed national military readiness, stating that the United States maintains ample weapons stockpiles and remains fully capable of resuming military operations against Iran if necessary. Hegseth emphasized that munitions reserves are sufficient both within the region and globally.

President Trump recently convened with senior advisors in the White House Situation Room to deliberate on military posture regarding Iran, though no final determination was reached. Trump reiterated that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon and called for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Ebrahim Azizi, Head of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security Commission, responded that Tehran sets the terms for any negotiations with the United States. Azizi insisted concessions would only be exchanged on a reciprocal basis and rejected what he described as unrealistic demands from the Trump administration.

Separately, US authorities announced the dismantling of an Iranian procurement network accused of utilizing fake companies to acquire sensitive US military technology for Iran’s defense sector in violation of sanctions. The network was allegedly led by Iran-based individual Ali Majd Sepehr.
