Tractor-Trailer Overturns on I-80, Crushes Car Beneath It

A serious crash on Route 80 in New Jersey left a car crushed under an overturned tractor-trailer on Sunday, according to state authorities.

The New Jersey State Police reported that the chain of events began when a Kia SUV struck a concrete barrier in Elmwood Park. As the big rig approached the scene of that initial collision, the truck driver lost control. The vehicle began jackknifing before ultimately overturning onto the Kia.

The driver of the Kia, a 41-year-old individual, was involved in the incident. The New Jersey State Police did not immediately release further details regarding the condition of the driver.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash on the busy highway.
