2-Year-Old Boy Dies After Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound in Chicago’s Pullman Community

CHICAGO, Illinois — A 2-year-old boy died Monday after he accidentally shot himself in the head inside a home in the city’s Pullman community.

Chicago Police said the toddler was inside a residence near 104th and Maryland when he somehow gained access to a gun and shot himself. He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later from a gunshot wound to the head.

A 31-year-old man was taken into custody for questioning in connection with the incident.

The death is under investigation.
