MENOMONEE FALLS, Wisconsin — Authorities are searching for a suspect following a violent Menomonee Falls road rage shooting that left a driver with severe facial injuries late Friday night. The incident, which police are now investigating as an attempted homicide, began as a minor traffic dispute before escalating into gunfire on a residential street. The Honda CR-V victim was transported to a local hospital, while law enforcement works to track down the unknown shooter who fled the scene.
According to the Menomonee Falls Police, the confrontation originated near a retail center at the intersection of Bancroft and County Line Road, in the vicinity of a Culver’s and another nearby store. Following the initial disagreement, one vehicle pursued the other down Maple Road.
During the chase, one of the vehicles lost control at a bend and crashed into a nearby retail property, leaving visible tire tracks in the grass. The pursuit ultimately culminated near the intersection of Maple Road and Kirkman Street, where the suspect opened fire on the victim’s vehicle.
A witness in the neighborhood reported hearing a crash followed immediately by gunshots. A private security guard working in the area also witnessed the aftermath and called for emergency assistance, prompting a heavy police and fire response that illuminated the neighborhood late into the night.
The suspect fired multiple rounds, shattering the windshield of the victim’s Honda CR-V. While initial witness accounts suggested the attacker may have used a BB gun, a spokesperson for the Menomonee Falls Police confirmed that the weapon fired actual gunshots. Gunshot debris struck the victim in the face, causing serious eye injuries. The victim, who was not acquainted with the attacker, was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. A spokesperson for the Menomonee Falls Police stated that investigators are deliberately withholding the suspect’s physical description and vehicle details to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing investigation. Law enforcement continues to urge anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
